The Houston Texans will try to push their record above .500 for the first time this season when they host the Buffalo Bills at NRG Stadium on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff for this AFC battle is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. EST on Prime Video.
Houston enters this game on a two-game winning streak, having won three of its last four games. Thursday will be the third start for backup Davis Mills, filling in for C.J. Stroud, who had to leave the loss to Denver a few weeks ago early because of a concussion. Before Stroud’s concussion, the defense (which happens to be the No. 1 unit in the league) led the way for the Texans, making it possible to win a few games while struggling to get the offense on track.
Josh Allen and the Bills snapped back last week following an embarrassing loss to the Dolphins the week before with a 44-32 win over Tampa Bay. Allen led the way with 317 yards passing and three touchdowns, along with a pair of interceptions. He also added three scores on the ground. But the Bucs defense did shut down James Cook, allowing just 40 rushing yards.

If the defense can keep Josh Allen in check and James Cook from heating up, maybe Davis Mills will have enough time to get the offense on track and score enough points to win.
