I am not super confident in Alvarez, and it doesn’t help that he seldom goes longer than four innings. It would be nice if the Nationals bullpen was better (5.03 ERA). But Toronto’s lineup may not be able to take advantage, though (.250 BA over the last week; 19 runs scored in seven games). Washington, on the other hand, has had the hottest lineup in baseball (.315 BA, 39 runs scored across seven games). With how Max Scherzer has been pitching and how the Nats have been hitting, this one could get ugly early.
