Seattle Mariners vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Seattle Mariners (45-43) are fresh off a 3-game home sweep of the Los Angeles Angels. Now, they will complete their homestand with a 3-game series with the visiting Toronto Blue Jays (41-46).

Seattle held the Angels to just 6 total runs in their sweep, and despite sneaking out the 1-0 win in the finale, they had put up 14 runs in the previous two games. Cole Young was strong in those early games of the series. He went 4-6 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. Starter Bryce Miller was the star in the finale. Miller held the Angels scoreless in his 7 innings of work and picked up 8 strikeouts while walking no one.

The Blue Jays really struggled at the end of June. They finished the month by losing 7 of their last 8 games and averaging just 3.125 runs over that same stretch. They did kick off July with a solid 9-3 win over the Mets on Wednesday. They took an early 5-0 lead in the 3rd and never looked back. They tacked on 4 more runs in the 7th and thwarted the comeback attempt by the Mets in the 8th and 9th innings. They will throw Luis Castillo tonight, in hopes that he can keep the Mariners on the right track to begin this month.
