Blue Jays manager John Schneider kept his promise that the Jays would regain their lost offensive rhythm in Seattle. And they did, making up for the 3-10 defeat the Mariners inflicted on them in Toronto. In Game 3, they delivered an even more significant blow to the Mariners, defeating them 13-4 in a 5-homer game that Toronto also won despite being underdogs in the betting.

Game 3 started very well for the Mariners, so much so that, thanks to their star player J-Rod, they took a 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run homer from the Dominican. However, even though Kirby was on the mound for Seattle, the crucial third inning for the Jays finally changed the script of the series. Andrés Giménez hit a home run to tie the score, and with two outs, Varsho hit a bases-sweeping double.

Then the Jays' stars responded: Springer hit his third home run of the postseason, Guerrero Jr. his fourth, and later Alejandro Kirk would also hit another. Then, solo home runs by Arozarena and Raleigh fell far short of a possible comeback for the Mariners. When the Jays visited T-Mobile Field in the regular season, they swept the Mariners.
