The San Francisco Giants (44-47) look to avoid an early losing streak this month when they take on the Toronto Bluejays (41-49) at home Tuesday night. After losing back-to-back games in Cleveland by the same final score of 5-4 over the weekend, the Giants were looking forward to getting back home for this series with the Bluejays. Toronto not only snapped a 3-game losing streak over the weekend, but they won back-to-back games against the Mariners to close things out and hope to pick up another win to begin a win streak of their own. Statistically, these teams are similar, but there is a major difference in total runs scored. The Giants are 14th in the league (402 runs) while the Bluejays are just 25th (359). The runs may be coming easy in this one as we have 2 starters with ERAs over the league average. Yusei Kikuchi (4-8, 4.12) will face Blake Snell (0-3, 9.51) in this matchup. Snell was coming off a strong year in San Diego last season but has yet to find his way since beginning his season with the Giants. In his 6 starts this season, Snell has not allowed less than 3 runs in an outing. For Kikuchi, the road has been up and down all season for him. He has had some great starts like the 5 innings of shutout pitching against the Brewers back in early June and then times like in Cleveland where he failed to make it through 3 innings and allowed 4 runs on 8 hits.
