The Blue Jays haven't had a good time at City Field. First, Megill dominated them in Game 1, a game the Mets won 5-0 in their home opener. There, both the Blue Jays and the Mets managed just eight hits combined, but the Mets' hits proved more timely, like Alonso's home run in the first inning. In Game 1, Bichette, batting leadoff, went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Then in Saturday's game, Bichette went 3-for-5 with an RBI double, but this time it was Springer's bat, as the fifth in the order, that failed to respond in the crucial moment, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. The Blue Jays managed 10 hits, but while Springer left three on base, Alejandro Kirk also went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and left six on base while also hitting into a double play. The Jays still led 2-0 in the eighth inning, but reliever Brendon Little tied the game, and Hoffman drew a sacrifice fly from Lindor to give the Mets Game 2 as well.

The Mets didn't have more hits than the Blue Jays in the two wins, but the relief pitching is the team's strong point, so much so that they have a 1.40 ERA this season.
