The Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros meet at Daikin Park on Tuesday evening, in the second contest of a three game series that the Blue Jays currently lead 1-0.
Monday's series opener saw Blue Jays pitcher Shane Bieber produce arguably his best display of the season to restrict Houston to just one run and nine hits from 5 2/3 innings. On offense, a homer from Alejandro Kirk, plus runs from Jesús Sánchez and Ernie Clement were enough to give the Blue Jays a narrow 3-1 victory.
That result means that Toronto have now won four of their last five games, and whilst it has been a largely dismal season for the Blue Jays, the future looks a lot brighter for John Schneider's side.
As for the Astros, Monday's defeat snapped a six game winning run and reduced their lead at the top of the AL West to just three games.
