The Houston Astros will try to end their current homestand with a series sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays in Game Three of their three-game series today. Fans can follow the action on the MLB Network once the game gets underway at 7:40 p.m. EST.
Yesterday’s 5-1 over the Blue Jays put the Astros above .500 for the first time this season (12-11). The lineup gave starting pitcher Ronel Blanco an early cushion to work with after scoring three runs in the bottom of the first off Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt. Blanco went on to pitch 6 2/3 innings, his longest outing of the season, giving up two hits (one home run) and one earned run before turning the game over to the bullpen. Houston will try to keep the good times rolling with Ryan Gusto (3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) on the mound today. Gusto won his last outing, Friday vs. the Padres.
