The Cubs have certainly had some memorable moments at Wrigley Field this season, racking up a tremendous number of walk-off wins there, but on Friday they managed to win there by scoring the most runs of the season in a resounding 16-2 rout of the Blue Jays that marked Chicago's 40th victory of the season.

The Cubs won their previous two series against the Giants and Rockies and immediately set the tone for the series against the Blue Jays, giving one of Toronto's best pitchers, Gausman, a real beating, racking up 7 runs in the first inning alone. Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Cubs' center fielder, who recently hit for the cycle, is continuing his hot streak; on Friday he collected 3 hits and extended his on-base streak to 22 games. In the final game of the previous series, the Cubs also had an inning with seven or more runs, and this feat is the first time since 2001 that they've done so in two consecutive games.

The hit that knocked the Jays out was Kelly's 428-foot grand slam in the first inning. Patrick Corbin will try to prevent Saturday's game from slipping away from the Jays so quickly.
