The Boston Red Sox host the Toronto Blue Jays, with starter Walker Buehler hoping for run support like what the Red Sox provided on Saturday. Boston slammed the Blue Jays 15-1, ending what had been a six-game skid. The Red Sox haven’t had much go their way as of late, and it usually hasn’t mattered much what they’ve tried.
Boston did give Buehler plenty of run support the last time he took the mound, scoring five runs against the Angels. It didn’t matter, as Buehler only made it four innings in a 9-5 loss in Anaheim. In three of his past four starts, Buehler has failed to reach the fifth inning, suggesting that he might not have it anymore to succeed in the majors after his injury history.

Toronto’s power outage on Saturday appears to be an aberration. The Jays have mostly had no problems hitting Boston, and they usually put up solid numbers at the plate. Saturday was likely a game where everything went wrong, and the usual response from a quality team like the Blue Jays is to come back with a strong showing the next time out.
