Divisional rivals the Blue Jays and Orioles have losing records. However, both are in good form ahead of their first series against each other in 2026, starting Thursday.

After hitting well against Skenes and taking two of three games in their series against the Pirates, the Blue Jays did the same to the Marlins. They won the rubber match of Wednesday's game in Toronto, which was a nail-biter. The Jays won 2-1 thanks to a game-tying RBI double by Lukes and, more importantly, a solo home run by Okamoto that put them ahead. The game featured catcher Heineman throwing out a Marlins runner at second on a steal attempt, aided by a brilliant tag from Giménez.

Meanwhile, the Orioles completed the sweep at home, bringing the division leader down a peg. The last game was an 11-2 blowout, where they opened the scoring by putting five runs into the fifth inning against Tampa Bay. Henderson had his best game of the year at the plate, hitting his 12th and 13th home runs of the season.
