The Baltimore Orioles will try to win two in a row over the Toronto Blue Jays in Sunday’s Game 2 at Oriole Park.
The Orioles secured the series-opening win on the back of two home runs and a two-run double by Cedric Mullins in the mid innings and punctuated by strong closed out by their bullpen. The result gave Baltimore a win after absorbing a heartbreaking one-run loss and a 0-9 blowout to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Jays took back-to-back heartbreakers to the Red Sox 3-4 and Orioles 4-5, putting them in danger of dropping to .500 at 8-7. Toronto is scoring just 3.9 runs a game over their last five matches, which has hindered them from winning close games despite pitching a solid 1.74 in that stretch.

Prediction: The Jays tied the weekend series with another terrific pitching from starter Jose Berrios.
Berrios will try to follow up his two-earned run, 8-strikeout performance vs. Washington on April 1 with another strong outing vs. the Orioles, against whom he allowed six runs in 5.2 innings in his season debut. This is an opportunity for Berrios to redeem himself by holding off an anemic Orioles offense that is averaging 2.2 runs per game over their last five. Given how these teams falter at the plate of late, we will most likely have another low-scoring ball game on Sunday. But I feel Berrios can set the tone of the game in favor of the Jays if he can dominate the way he did against the Nats. As for the Orioles, I don’t think Cade Povich can get them a good start since he had a couple of bad games vs. the Jays last year, including a game where he gave up 6 earned runs in a 5-6 loss.
