Seattle Mariners vs Texas Rangers Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Seattle Mariners (8-12) will host a 3-game set with the visiting Texas Rangers (10-9) that begins tonight. This will be the 1st of a few divisional series between the AL West opponents.

Texas began the month on a 4-game losing streak but turned things around and won 5 of their next 7 games. However, since that turnaround, they have lost 2 of their last 3 against the Athletics. They are coming off a nice come-from-behind win last game. Trailing 6-5 in the 9th, they posted 4 runs to take an insurmountable lead. They will look to carry that momentum here against the Mariners.

Seattle is mired in a 3-game losing streak after being swept by the San Diego Padres earlier this week. This came right after they completed a 4-game sweep of the Houston Astros at home in the previous series. They seem to be a completely different team when playing at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Seattle will have Logan Gilbert on the mound tonight. He is coming off back-to-back solid starts, where he was able to pick up 1 win. He has gone 13 innings over those 2 starts and allowed just 3 runs while striking out 12. He and the home field should give the Mariners an advantage.
