American League West rivals collide on Friday as the Texas Rangers battle the Seattle Mariners for the first time this season at T-Mobile Park.
The Rangers are still at the top of the AL West standings with a 9-4 record even after lowing two in the three-game series with the Chicago Cubs this week. Texas took the series-finale though by the score of 6-2 behind two home runs from Corey Seager.
The Mariners have won two of their last three games, including a 7-6 squeaker over the Houston Astros in Game 3. Randy Arozarena spearhead Seattle’s comeback from 0-5 down by coming through with a grand slam in the 8th and drawing the game-winning walk in the 9th inning. The win improved Seattle’s record to 5-8, tied with the Oakland Athletics at the bottom of the AL West standings.
