San Diego Padres vs Texas Rangers Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Padres will host the Texas Rangers today in Game Three of their weekend series at Petco Park in San Diego, CA. Fans can catch the action on ESPN once the game gets underway at 9:10 p.m. EST.

After losing the opener on Friday 3-2, the Rangers got back on the right side of the scoreboard with a 7-4 win over the Padres on Saturday. Patrick Corbin got the Rangers on track by holding San Diego to two runs and six hits in six innings. But the star of the day was Kyle Higashioka, who went 3-3 with a home run and five RBI. Texas is scheduled to go with Jack Leiter on the mound to start the day. Leier is 4-5 this season in 14 starts with a 4.29 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.  In seven road starts, he has gone 1-3 with an ERA of 4.55, with opponents hitting .214 against him. He last won on May 30, but the Rangers lost in all five of his June starts and in every road start he’s made all season. San Diego has yet to name a starting pitcher for the game. There has been speculation that they may call Matt Waldron back up; he made his season debut vs. the Phillies last week (4 2/3 innings, six hits, four earned runs).
