The Texas Rangers will try to keep their wild-card dreams alive as they head out to California for a weekend series vs. the Athletics in Sacramento. First Pitch for tonight’s game at Sutter Health Park is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. EST. Fans can watch the action unfold via the MLB Network. Texas heads out onto the road after a 5-1 home stand that saw the lineup absolutely killing the ball. They outscored the Guardians 19-3 with two shutouts and outscored the Angels 27-10, and that’s with a 4-0 loss in game one of that series. But the A’s are coming in hot as well after sweeping the Tigers in a three-game series this week by a combined score of 22-9 (including a 7-0 shutout).

Texas will start the day with Jack Leiter on the mound. The young righty is 8-7 in 23 starts with a 3.81 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a .218 OBA. On the road, he’s 2-5 with a 4.81 ERA and a .237 OBA. This will be his second start vs. the A’s this season. He’s gone 5-3 at home in 11 starts (12 appearances) with a 4.73 ERA and .239 OBA.
