For Saturday's doubleheader between the Yankees and Rangers, Boone ultimately decided to put Cole in the second game. The Yankees are then given odds of -160 to take the first game and -180 for the second where Cole will pitch. The superstar's return has not been what was expected, although it has not been catastrophic for him either. The main problem since his return for the 33-year-old right-hander is that he has not been able to keep the ball in the park. In his second-to-last start, the Mets hit 3 HRs off him. One positive point for Cole, however, is that in each of his last 5 starts he has thrown 90 pitches or more and he already has 42 strikeouts this season.

Bradford is the Rangers' scheduled starter for Game 2 of the doubleheader at Yankee Stadium. The lefty is 3-0 in 25 IP this season, with a 3.96 ERA, has struck out 24 and allowed 4 HRs.

Keeping the ball in the park will be a tremendous challenge for the Rangers, especially against the Yankees, who have the second most in the majors. However, they will have to try because the Rangers have an excellent record of 27-8 in 2024 when they prevent their opponent from hitting a HR.
