After Friday's game was suspended, the Yankees and Rangers will meet in a doubleheader on Saturday. It will be the first time the Yankees face the reigning World Series champions in the 2024 season.

The Yankees are tied with the Orioles and are co-leaders of the LA East division. However, this was due to the Yankees losing a seemingly easy series against Angels. They lost games 2 and 3 of the series with pre-game odds to win it of -245 and -223. The last one against the Angels was lost 9 - 4 with a poor performance by Cortes who allowed 9 hits and 6 ER in 4.2 IP. Surprisingly, Judge was dominated that night and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

The Rangers are also going through difficulties and, despite being the champions, they will hardly be in the postseason. They're 54-61 and have lost their last two home series to the Red Sox and Astros. They left 17 runners on base and struck out 11 times in the last loss, and were one out away from a no-hitter from Valdez the day before.

The Rangers' starting pitching has been disastrous, as has the bullpen. Both have ERAs over 6.00 in the last 10 games.
