The four-game series between the Rangers and Royals will conclude Thursday afternoon, a key series for the Royals. Despite losing Wednesday's game, they lead the series 2-1, have won eight of their last 10, and have the weapons to fight to the end with the Guardians, Mariners, Red Sox, Guardians, and Yankees for the wild card.

After the Royals' 5-2 victory on Tuesday, they lost 3-6 on Wednesday. Kansas City scored all of its runs in the first inning thanks to a three-run homer by Pasquantino, his third of the series, with one in each game.

For the Rangers, Higashioka broke a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning with a bases-sweeping double on Thursday.

Patrick Corbin will be the Rangers' pitcher, but he hasn't put up the elite numbers of other Texas starters like Eovaldi or DeGrom; in fact, he was overhit by the Blue Jays in Toronto in his last outing.
