After sweeping the White Sox, the Royals won Games 1 and 2 of their series against the Rangers, improving their record to 65-61 and moving them just 2.5 games away from the final AL Wild Card spot, currently held by the Mariners.

The Royals won Tuesday's game 5-2; it was a close game in which the Royals managed to score the go-ahead runs beyond the seventh inning. Things had started well for the Rangers with Seager's home run, but Pasquantino quickly responded with his 24th home run of the season. Pederson put the Rangers ahead again with a solo home run, and Yastrzemski tied it for Kansas City. In the Royals' seventh, India drove in a run after being hit with the bases loaded, and Witt Jr. responded with the final home run of the game to seal the lead.

That's eight losses for the Rangers in their last 10 games. Despite having formidable starting pitching, they haven't managed to hit anything close to what they did, for example, in their 2023 season, when they were champions.
