The Texas Rangers will try to get back on the right side of the scoreboard today when they take on the White Sox in Chicago at Rate Field. Gametime is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. EST.

Texas has not been a good road team this season (8-17), and they have certainly struggled on their current road trip, getting swept by the Yankees in New York before losing yesterday to the White Sox 4-1. They’ve hit just .195 during that stretch and scored just nine runs total across five games (tied for worst in baseball). Their pitching hasn’t necessarily been bad (3.70 ERA over the last week). The pitching staff just isn’t getting any support from the lineup. Chicago hasn’t done much better with wins in just two of their last five games. The pitching staff has not done badly (3.48 ERA), but the lineup has not helped much (.226 BA with 13 runs scored over the last five games).

Texas will put Jack Leiter on the mound to start the day; he’s got a 3-2 record with a 4.25 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Leiter has not given up a home run away from home. Chicago will give Jonathan Cannon the ball to start the day. Cannon is 2-5 with a 3.76 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP.
