The Boston Red Sox (62-55) snapped a 4-game losing streak on Monday night against the Texas Rangers (55-64). They were coming off being swept at home by the visiting Houston Astros over the weekend. On Monday night, the game was tied 3-3 as they headed into extra innings before Refsnyder hit a walk-off single for the Red Sox. Brayan Bello had pitched 6 innings and held the Rangers to just 1 run on 4 hits before exiting and not factoring into the decision. Tonight, the Rangers will be going with Jose Urena (3-7, 3.74) to start the game. Urena bounced back after a 7 run/8 hit outing against these same Red Sox on August 2nd where he only lasted 4 innings. He pitched against the Astros in his last outing and held them to 3 runs on 6 hits. The Red Sox will counter with Kutter Crawford (7-9, 4.11) who was roughed up by the Royals in his last start. He lasted only 3.2 innings and allowed 6 runs on just 5 hits. He walked 4 batters and struck out just 3. He has now allowed 22 runs over his last 4 starts and has shown no signs of figuring out things any time soon.
