Texas takes their 11-9 record into Atlanta Friday night for the final leg of their 3-series road trip. After losing 2 of 3 in Houston, they bounced back to win 3 of 4 in Detroit. The 9-7 win over the Tigers on Thursday was highlighted by 3 Rangers going yard. Semien, Garcia, and Heim combined for those 3 homers and knocked in 4 RBIs. The offensive output was much needed since Jack Leiter’s much awaited career debut was littered with 7 runs on just 3.2 innings of work. Andrew Heney (0-2) will take the mound for the Rangers to face Atlanta’s Chris Sale (1-1). Heaney has yet to pitch into the 5th inning of any of his 3 starts and has seen his EAR reach 6.75. Sale is coming off his worst start of the season. Despite going 7 innings, he allowed 5 earned to one of the worst lineups in baseball, the Miami Marlins. He picked up the loss in that one but the Braves have since won 4 straight games and look to extend their win streak here. Marcell Ozuna continued his hot hitting in their last game by hitting a solo homer and holding onto a .352 average.
