It seems the Rays have the Blue Jays' measure of the game, having won eight of their last ten meetings. In a new series at Rogers Centre, the Rays are moving closer to tying their record after winning the series opener against the Jays 11-9.

The first game was an entertaining one; the Rays started as +128 underdogs and won. For the Blue Jays, it was another day of good hitting, and they may have finally woken up from their season-high home run slumber. Bichette hit his third of the season, and Varsho hit his fourth and then his fifth in the eighth inning, but nothing helped. They had a terrible ninth inning where Jeff Hoffman couldn't get the save and gave up a grand slam from Caminero in which Lowe, Simpson, and Morela scored to complete the 11 runs that won the Rays the game.
