The top team in the AL East, the Tampa Bay Rays, are searching for a 3rd win in 4 games this afternoon on the road against the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers are currently on the outside looking in on the playoffs. However, they trail the Guardians and Jays by just 2 games for a wild card spot and are just 3 games behind the Astros for the lead in the division. The Rangers rode Cal Quantrill in the 1st game of this series. He went 7 innings of scoreless work and helped the Rangers take the 6-0 win. 5 different Rangers contributed at least 1 RBI in the win. Corey Seager was the only Ranger with 2 RBIs, and that came on his 2-run homer in the 5th.

While the Rangers dominated game one, it was the Rays who took the next 2 games. Jonathan Aranda and Junior Caminero combined to go 4-9 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 4 RBIs in game two. Their offense helped lift the Rays to the 7-6 win. While it was the offense in game two, it was pitching in game three that lifted the Rays. Drew Rasmussen struck out 7 batters over 7 innings and held the Rangers to just a solo run. The Rays ultimately won 6-3, while the bulk of the offense came after Rasmussen exited the game.
