The Rays (65-66) dropped one game below .500 following their loss in the series opener. With barely a month left in the regular season, Tampa Bay’s hope of returning to the postseason is dimming as it would take a massive late-season rally for them to cover a 10.5-game lead by the Baltimore Orioles to stay in contention for one of the wild card spots in the American League.
