The Tampa Bay Rays (71-73 SU, 73-71 ATS) continue their road series with the Philadelphia Phillies (86-58 SU, 72-72 ATS). For the fifth consecutive series, the Phillies have won the series opener, which is a large reason why they’ve won six consecutive series overall. They’re sending Ranger Suarez back to the mound, and he’s mostly been reliable as long as the opponent isn’t Atlanta.

In his past two starts against the Braves, Suarez has been bombed for nine earned runs in nine innings. In his other four starts since June, Suarez has allowed eight earned runs in 21.1 innings. He’s not going to eat innings, but he will offer five to six good innings most nights and gives the Phillies a chance to win the game.
