The Saints have dropped three in a row, in part because the offense couldn’t sustain what it did the first two weeks of the season. When the Saints face a competent defense, they have not had an answer.

When a team can pass on the Bucs, they’re in trouble. Tampa Bay has shown hit-or-miss ability to stop the pass, and it depends mostly on whether the Bucs can get pressure on the quarterback. When the blitzes succeed, the Bucs usually win the game comfortably. When a team can find the open space, the Bucs struggle badly.
New Orleans probably won’t handle the blitz very well. The Saints have not looked good in the past three games, and the offense has been a large part of the problem. Scoring a combined 49 points in three games isn’t going to cut it, especially when the Saints were topping 40 in the first two weeks of the year. The passing game hasn’t done very well the past few weeks, which plays right into Tampa Bay’s hands. With the Bucs showing no fear of the Superdome, our prediction for Tampa Bay vs. New Orleans is Buccaneers -3.5.
