One of the Romanian players to make it through to the second round of the WTA event in Cluj this week is Sorana Cirstea, who is now considered by most sportsbooks to be one of the favorites to go all the way. Ranked at 36 in the world, Cirstea is definitely the type of player who should be seriously thinking about winning an event of this nature. She comes into this match off the back of a strong first-round performance and should thus fancy herself to beat the much lower-ranked Tamara Zidansek.
Zidansek doesn't have the sort of recent record that points towards her causing what would be a big upset here. Sure, she won her first-round match, but this is a much tougher task for the Slovakian competitor, who hasn't beaten a top-100 player on a hard surface for some time. Can she change that here? I doubt it.

Our Tamara Zidansek vs Sorana Cirstea Prediction
As far as I'm concerned, this is an even bigger opportunity for Sorana Cirstea than the early odds would have us believe. The Romanian has a fabulous recent record against lower-ranked players, and after she once again made light work of beating Rakhimova in straight sets last time out, she looks all set to demolish someone like Tamara Zidansek, who didn't exactly have the toughest first-round assignment.
Ranked at 153 in the world, Zidansek is unlikely to be a suitable match for the world number 36, who is in strong form and who is playing in front of a home crowd. In other words, another straight-set win for Cirstea looks likely.
