Toronto Blue Jays vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction & Picks - MLB

=11.0ptThe Toronto Blue Jays (69-78) will host the St. Louis Cardinals (74-72) for a 3-game series beginning Friday evening at the Rogers Centre. Toronto has had a rough start to September, losing 7 of their 9 games to this point. They are coming off a 6-2 loss against the Mets most recently. Sean Manaea pitched a solid 6.2 innings for the Mets and held this Blue Jay lineup to just 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 8. But the more disappointing thing for the Jays was that the bullpen blew the game in the 9th after Bowden Francis went 8 strong innings, allowing just a single run on one hit. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are looking to start their 1st win streak of the month today. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the Reds which allowed them to take that series. In both wins, the Cardinals held the Reds to a single run in each. Tonight, Erick Fedde (8-9, 3.39) will look to keep the opposing offense under control as did the previous 2 starters did against the Reds. Fedde is coming off a 1 run 5 hit game against the Mariners in which he lasted 4.2 innings but took a loss. For the Jays, Kevin Gausman (12-11, 4.09) will get the ball. Gausman picked up his 11th loss in his latest start. He went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits against the Braves.
