The Mariners have a five-man starting rotation with notable career numbers. Their latest trade deadline additions make them a team that will easily be in the top 7 of MLB's most home run-hitting teams. They have speed on the bases, excellent defense, and, if that weren't enough, a city rooting for them to win their first World Series.

There are no excuses for the Mariners to miss the playoffs this season, so a solid September like the one they're having is necessary to secure the last Wild Card or take the division lead from the Astros.

The Mariners won their last four games with home runs; it was a good run that began with a 10-2 thrashing of the Braves on September 2nd, when Raleigh, Naylor, and Suárez homered, and Julio Rodríguez hit two home runs. The next game, they won 18-2. Another day, Suárez had two home runs, and Raleigh hit his 53rd of the season.

The Mariners won the first game of the series against the Cardinals 4-2, and in Tuesday's 5-3 victory, Arozarena hit his 27th home run of the year and Naylor his 19th.
