Freddy Peralta had another lackluster outing, allowing 6 earned runs. He was hit hard in the fourth inning when the Cardinals' Walker hit his 15th double of the season, but it was Burleson who ultimately broke the game open for St. Louis, delivering his best performance of the season at the plate. He hit two home runs in the fifth and seventh innings, each with a runner on base.
