These Cardinals sure love to rack up extra bases, and they are the ones leading them toward 40 wins this year. They're still four games behind the division-leading Brewers, but they had a great Saturday at the plate in Minneapolis. The entire series has been high-scoring, and the Twins and Cards will play a rubber match this afternoon at Target Field.
In the first game of the series, the Twins won 9-8, coming from behind and scoring the two winning runs in the bottom of the eighth. That inning saw Lewis and Lee combine for home runs, and Kody Clemens also hit his tenth of the season. In that first game, the Cardinals' Burleson, who's having a standout season, extended his hot streak by homering for the fourth consecutive game for the Cards. The next day he went 1-for-5, but Iván Herrera hit two home runs to help the team. The Panamanian combined with Blaze Jordan, a rookie who hit his first MLB home run, to hit back-to-back blasts.
The bullpen was ultimately the Twins' downfall on Saturday, yet again, as Minnesota is a respectable team at the plate, especially with Buxton; the dynamic center fielder has hit an incredible 22 home runs in his last 46 games.

Our Minnesota Twins vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
The Cardinals' Saturday victory wasn't without its scares. With the score 9-5, they brought in reliever O'Brien to get the final three outs, but his wildness loaded the bases. However, he managed to mitigate the damage, and St. Louis ultimately won 9-6.
The Twins are slightly favored in the betting odds to win the rubber matchup. This is primarily due to Taj Bradley, a pitcher who has garnered attention for his control and ability to handle innings. However, he struggled in his last outing, where he was hit hard by the White Sox bats.
Our prediction for Twins vs Cardinals is: Over 9 runs.
