The Miami Marlins (11-12, 9-5 Home) will try to improve to .500 today when they host the St. Louis Cardinals (13-9, 6-4 Away) in the second game of a three-game series to start the week. Miami had lost four in a row before taking the finale of their weekend series vs. Milwaukee on Sunday, 5-3. The Marlins made the most of the six hits and six walks in yesterday’s game to edge out the visiting Cardinals for a 5-3 win. St Louis had won five in a row before dropping yesterday’s game.

The Cardinals are set to give Dustin May the ball to start the day. May is 2-2 on the season with an ERA of 6.98 and a 1.60 WHIP. However, while they are not good numbers, he has been pitching much better of late. In his last two starts, he gave up ten total hits and one earned run in each game.
