In a season that's been more forgettable than anything else, the Royals have a chance to turn things around if they complete their first home sweep of the season on Sunday. They've already clinched the series against the Cardinals in the Battle of Missouri rivalry; if they pull off the sweep, it will be the first time they've done so in Kansas City against St. Louis since 2001.

Game 2 of the series at Kauffmann Stadium ended 6-5; it was a game in which Jac Caglianone hit a home run, went 2-for-4, and drove in two runs. In that game, the Royals' lineup only struck out three times, which is particularly noteworthy since Friday's batting order didn't include their stars, Witt Jr. and Maikel García. Tyler Tolbert appeared in the lineup to replace Witt Jr., whom manager Quatraro praised for making the most of his limited opportunities.

On Sunday, the series will have an added element that could change everything: Dustin May will start for the Cardinals after the redhead pitched the best game of his career in his last outing on June 15 against the Padres: 9 complete innings, allowing only one hit, striking out 9, and walking just one batter.
