The Reds took game three of their series against the Brewers on Sunday to avoid a sweep and followed that up with a strong 6-1 victory over these Cardinals last night. Andrew Abbott pitched 6.2 innings and held the Cardinals to 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 6 batters. Releiver, Jakob Junis, went the rest of the way and closed out the game for the Reds. Spencer Steer was an RBI machine last night as he went 2-3 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBIs and added a stolen base and a walk. The Cardinals had been coming off an 8-3 loss to the Royals in the game before last night and are now turning to Erick Fedde (8-5, 3.28) to stop the bleeding an avoid this losing streak. Fedde looked good in his last start against the Rays. He held them to 1 run on 5 hits and picked up his 1st win as a member of the Cardinals. For the Reds, Hunter Greene (8-4, 2.90) looks to bounce back from his worst start over his last 6. He did not factor into the decision but did allow 3 runs on 6 hits against the Marlins.
