Yesterday’s game was postponed. So, fans will get treated to a double-header between the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals today. Game 1 is scheduled to get underway at 2:10 p.m. EST and Game 2 at 5:40 p.m. EST. I’ll be focusing on Game 2.

St. Louis has gone 16-21 on the road this season, with losses in three of their last five road games. At 38-35, they are seven games behind the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs, but only a half game back of the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds. The lineup has been hitting .239 away from home and scoring 4.48 runs per game. As for the pitching staff, it has a 4.22 ERA on the road. They’ll be giving Michael McGreevy his third start of the season. In his first two, he pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings vs. the Mets and lasted six against the Dodgers, giving up four runs.

It has been another rough year for the White Sox who are 23-50 and in last place in the AL Central. But they have played their best baseball at home, where they are 16-19. But they’ve lost seven of their last eight games, including their last four at home. It looks like they’ll be taking a bullpen approach to Game 2 of the doubleheader with reliever Mike Vasil set to start. He has a 1.99 ERA in 45 1/3 innings of work this season.
