What a great time to be a Cubs fan as we kick off July! They've won nine of their last ten games, including their last five, and opened the month with a massive 23-3 rout of the Padres. They hit eight home runs in that game, had Thursday off, and now face a heated series against their divisional rival, the Cardinals.

The Cubs were in Milwaukee, where a large portion of their fanbase turned out to support them in the fight for the division lead. Chicago took the last two games of the series against the Brewers but then returned to Wrigley Field in a festive atmosphere where they dominated the Padres.

Two Cubs players are currently making headlines; one is Dansby Swanson. The shortstop accomplished something rarely seen in the long history of MLB: hitting five home runs in less than 48 hours. He hit three in the blowout and drove in eight runs, making it a week to remember. But Pete Crow-Armstrong is also starting to show he's truly worth the multimillion-dollar contract he was given; he went 5-for-11 with two home runs in the sweep of San Diego.
