The San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues meet tonight at SAP Center with both teams desperate to stabilize their seasons as the playoff race intensifies. San Jose has been one of the more surprising stories of the 2025-26 campaign; after years of rebuilding, they currently sit 5th in the Pacific Division with a 30-25-4 record. While they have shown flashes of brilliance, including a high-scoring 7-5 win over Montreal recently, they have also struggled with consistency, dropping two of their last three games. Their goal differential remains a concern, as they’ve allowed 206 goals this season, ranking near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency.
On the other side, the St. Louis Blues are fighting to stay relevant in the Western Conference. With a 21-29-10 record, the Blues have struggled to find a rhythm all year. Their recent form has been a microcosm of their season: a mix of gritty wins followed by disappointing defensive collapses. They enter this matchup coming off a series of losses where they struggled to generate offense, averaging just 2.6 goals per game, which has put immense pressure on their goaltending to be perfect every night.

Our San Jose Sharks vs St. Louis Blues Prediction
The Sharks have been led by the phenomenal rookie Macklin Celebrini. The young center has been on a tear, tallying 30 goals and 57 assists for 87 points on the season, with a significant chunk of that production coming in his last six starts. He is the engine of the San Jose offense, often flanked by William Eklund, who has also been productive lately. However, the Sharks' injury list is significant. Veteran center Logan Couture remains out for the season with a groin injury, and goaltender Carey Price is sidelined with a knee issue. Additionally, Ty Dellandrea is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and isn't expected back until mid-March.
The Blues have their own health hurdles to clear; Robert Thomas is dealing with a leg injury, and defenseman Torey Krug is out for the season. Colton Parayko is also a game-time decision with a back ailment. Given the current trajectory of both rosters, San Jose holds the upper hand. Their offensive firepower, led by Celebrini, should be enough to overwhelm a St. Louis defense that has looked porous and depleted.
While the Blues play a physical game, they simply don't have the scoring depth right now to match the Sharks' top-six rotation at home. Our prediction for San Jose Sharks vs. St. Louis Blues: Under 6.5 goals.
