The Minnesota Wild will attempt to produce a bounce-back performance on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues at Grand Casino Arena.
The Wild saw a six-game winning streak end on Friday when they weren’t able to match the Utah Mammoth. Minnesota put a lot of effort into Thursday’s win over the league-leading Colorado Avalanche and couldn’t get anything going offensively in Friday’s game until it was too late, losing 5-2.
John Hynes’ side hasn’t lost consecutive games after a three-game skid in mid-January. In fact, Minnesota has suffered back-to-back losses only three times since December. The team has quality throughout the lineup and is tough to beat on most nights.
The Blues will travel to Saint Paul after losing 3-1 at home to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Jordan Binnington was back between the sticks for the team, but the offense disappeared. St. Louis got on the board via Pavel Buchnevich with only 1:18 remaining in regulation.
Saturday’s loss marked St. Louis’ ninth defeat in 11 games. Jim Montgomery’s side has the league’s second-worst record, and there doesn’t appear to be light at the end of the tunnel. To make matters worse, the team lost defenseman Colton Parayko to injury before Saturday’s game.

Our Minnesota Wild vs St. Louis Blues Prediction
The Wild are huge favorites for this contest, but the visitors may also have some joy due to Minnesota’s defensive fragilities. Since Jan. 1, the Wild have allowed an average of 3.53 goals per game, the same number as the struggling Blues.
While St. Louis struggled to create scoring chances against New Jersey, Dylan Holloway had a big four-point performance in Thursday’s 5-1 win over the Seattle Kraken, and the Blues’ offense could get a boost on Sunday, with Robert Thomas potentially returning after missing time with a leg injury and a personal matter.
Our prediction for Minnesota Wild vs. St. Louis Blues: Blues over 2.5 goals.
