One of the Major League Soccer venues to see action this weekend will be Children's Mercy Park, where Sporting Kansas City and the Seattle Sounders will clash in the Western Conference. This is a game between teams with contrasting objectives, that's for sure. The Sounders are always looking to challenge right at the top of the table, while they're also a team with a big connection to MLS Cup glory. In contrast, especially this season, Saturday's hosts are simply trying to make a better go of reaching the postseason than they did in 2024, which was rather disastrous.
We're certainly seeing an improved SKC get down to business these days. Kerry Zavagnin's men are only just outside of the all-important top nine, while they go into this game unbeaten in three, two of which they've won.
