One of just a handful of Major League Soccer fixtures due to take place this weekend sees Sporting Kansas City take on Austin FC. The hosts come into this game off the back of a rare win, beating the Colorado Rapids by four goals to two last time out. Can they use that win as a platform from which to build and treat their fans to consecutive wins for the first time in 2025? We'll find out at Children's Mercy Park.
The visitors, unlike the hosts, still have a strong chance of making the playoffs, though their position in the postseason is not yet secured, and if they're not careful, they'll drop out of the all-important top nine. Fortunately, the men in green and black helped their cause last time out by regaining the winning thread against the San Jose Earthquakes. They'll now be looking to follow up against one of the worst defensive teams in the entire division.
