Lorenzo Sonego looked in decent condition when losing to the eventual tournament winner in Lyon last week, and the Italian confirmed that when playing some excellent tennis to win his first-round match at Roland Garros, winning against the odds. Zhizhen Zhang has also looked useful on clay this season, but his win against the lower-ranked Vukic in the first round wasn't exactly a dazzling one. He'll need more here, that's for sure. When it comes to five-set matches at the Grand Slams, the overwhelming majority are won by the better player. For my money, though being ranked slightly lower than Zhang right now, Sonego is better equipped to play his best tennis at Roland Garros, as we saw last season. I think he ought to be a stronger favourite, thus making a bet on the Italian to win at current odds a value play.
