Turkiye takes on Serbia on Thursday, September 4, at the Arena Riga in Latvia.
This is a battle between two powerhouse undefeated teams in Group A. Turkey and Serbia have won their first four games in this year's EuroBasket. Both these teams have also advanced to the knockout stages in the Round of 16.
Serbia is coming off an 82-60 win over the Czech Republic. Their defense held the Czechs to only five points in the first quarter, setting the tone for the whole game. Aleksa Avramovic led Serbia with 14 points and 8 assists, while Filip Petrusev added 13.
Nikola Jokic only had 10 points, but he only logged almost 23 minutes of play. The major concern for Serbia moving forward is the loss of veteran sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic. The star shooting guard suffered a torn hamstring injury, which forced him to sit out the remainder of the tournament.
On the other end, Turkey is fresh off an 84-64 win over Estonia. They established a 19-point lead at halftime, and never looked back.
Alperen Sengun came through with another all-around stat line of 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Ercan Osmani added 14 points and 10 boards, while Adem Bona contributed 12 markers.
