The postseason is inching closer every day for MLB. Sunday afternoon, two teams that are hoping to make one final push and sneak into the playoffs will meet. The Seattle Mariners are currently 4 games out of the last wild card spot and will face the Toronto Blue Jays, who are currently just 1.5 games back of that same spot.
Heading into this 3rd and final game of their series in Toronto, the Mariners are trying to avoid being swept. They were decimated in game one, where they lost 8-1. They opened things up with a 1-0 lead after Dominic Canzone homered in the 1st inning. However, Dylan Cease settled in and did not give up any more runs in his 6 innings of work. Six different Blue Jays picked up an RBI in the win.
Game two was a much closer contest. The Mariners once again jumped out to an early lead. Cal Raleigh homered in the 1st, and Taylor Ward hit a 2-run single in the 4th to give the Mariners a 3-0 lead. However, once again, the Blue Jays battled back and took a 4-3 lead in the 6th and were able to hold that advantage to pick up the win.
