The more than 40,000 people in attendance at Oracle Park saw a truly fantastic game between the Giants and the Mariners. The Giants were favored with odds as high as -160 to beat the Mariners with 42-year-old veteran Verlander on the mound. He didn't have a good showing at Oracle Park, getting only seven outs, and the Mariners' Julio Rodriguez hit his second home run of the season to start the game.

However, the star of the night was Willi Adames, the SS the Giants gave 182 million for seven years. Adames made a key leaping catch, scooping up a hard line drive, and then delivered the two-run single to win the game via walkoff 9-8 in front of a euphoric crowd.

The Mariners were leading 8-6 after the sixth inning but would eventually lose, and the betting experts will again see them as underdogs heading into Game 2.

As favorites at -130 odds, the 6-1 Giants are going for their seventh win of the season, in an impressive start given that six of the first seven games of the season have been on the road.
