The Mariners had a rare power surge on Tuesday, scoring eight runs and banging out 13 hits in the victory. Strangely enough, none of the Mariners’ top three hitters managed to get a hit, while the remaining six all seemingly hit at will.
They might have to do it again, because Bryce Miller really hasn’t done the job when he’s gone on the road. In his past four away starts, he’s come out on the losing end three times, giving up at least four earned runs every time. He’s posted a 6.28 ERA in his road starts this season, compared to a sparkling 2.10 ERA at home. Seattle cruised with Logan Gilbert on the mound last time, but this time, the Mariners don’t have the pitching edge.
