The Seattle Mariners (70-70) will play the final game of their 4-game series with the Oakland Athletics (61-79) this afternoon. The Athletics were able to take games one and two by one run a piece. Shea Langeliers hit his 2nd homer of the game in the bottom of the 9th to walk things off in game one. In game two, it was Seth Brown’s turn to walk it off with a game winning RBI single. In game three, the Mariners offense exploded for 16 runs in the 16-3 victory. Luis Urias went 3-4 with a home run, two doubles, and 4 RBIs in the win. George Kirby pitched a solid 6 innings where he struck out 9 while allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits for the Mariners. Today, Bryan Woo (6-2, 2.30) will step onto the mound for the M’s. He is coming off a rocky start against the Angels where he allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in just over 6 innings of work. He will be countered by the A’s Joey Estes (6-6, 4.29). Estes has had 3 decent starts over his last 3 games. He has allowed just 5 runs over 19.1 innings and picked up his 6th win during that stretch.
