This game is the third installment in the four game series, taking place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, NY! The Mariners will be certainly looking to add to their clout and stabilize their lead in the AL West, continuing to put distance between them and the Texas Rangers, just three games behind by pulling off another win against the American League’s current leaders. They’re finding themselves on a long road series of ten games, having come from Baltimore and headed back to DC after this stint—so they’ll need to pace themselves for the rest of the marathon.
After a stunning 9th-inning Mariners comeback in the first game of the series followed by a more decisive win in game two, this third game should be a fun one to watch. The Yankees will be starting LHP Nestor Cortes, who so far this season is 2-4 with a 3.56 ERA and 57 strikeouts. Seattle, for their part, plan to start with Bryce Miller (3-4 with a 3.08 ERA and 52 K’s). No one expects the visiting team to sweep, but The Pinstripers will have to hammer home some significant runs to reverse course and win this third matchup.
