Minnesota Twins vs Seattle Mariners Prediction & Picks - MLB

Two teams coming off opposite results in their previous series will meet at Target Field tonight. The Minnesota Twins (12-16) will host the Seattle Mariners (14-15) tonight.

The Twins have lost 5 straight games, including their most recent 3-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays. Outside of the 8 runs they put up against the Mets on Thursday, the Twins have not scored more than 2 runs during this current losing streak. They will be starting Connor Prielipp tonight. Prielipp has only started once this season and did a decent job. He went 4 innings against the Mets and allowed just 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 6.

While the Twins have been stumbling, the Mariners have been playing well. They have won 4 straight games and are coming off a 3-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals. Not one of their 4 wins came in blowout fashion. They instead won two games by a single run and the other by just 2 runs. Luis Castillo will be on the mound and has been inconsistent this season. He is just 0-1 in his 5 starts and is carrying a hefty 5.01 ERA. That said, he did look good in his last start, where he held the Athletics to just 2 runs in 5 innings.

Neither team is starting a pitcher who is going to strike fear into the opposing lineup. It is likely that this will be a grind-it-out type of game between a team trying to snap a losing streak and another trying to extend their winning streak.
